7. 便利なプラグインを見つけることができました。ただ最新のjQuery1.9～では動かなかったのが残念です。なにはともあれ貴重な情報ありがとうございました。

     どうやら、このプラグインが使っている「jQuery TOOLS」というライブラリが1.9と相性が悪いようですね。
     「jQuery Migrate plugin」 (http://jquery.com/download/) のjquery-migrate-*.*.*.min.js を追加でインクルードして確認したところ動いてくれました。
